“Thank You Ma’am” by Langston Hughes:

I. Protagonist Sam Witwickie,
A. Teenage boy who is a former nobody who becomes somebody
B. Has a fancy car; car is alive
C. On a mission to protect the world from the decepticons.
D. Has a little dog named mojo who wears bling bling, has a broken leg, and that
      he babies.  
E. Sam doesn’t have a job and has a crush on girl he has had for lots of years.
II. Plot Line:
A. He has connections with transformers because his grandfather found Megatron.
B. On a search to the Arctic Circle, his grandfather fell into a hole and accidentally
   activated Megatron’s tracking system.
                          C. Sam tries to sell his grandfather’s glasses on ebay (that has the map imprinted

      on them), which leads to a problem;
D. A giant robot destroys his dad’s front yard (character vs. machine).  
E. Sam discovers that aliens are real and the aliens are trying to kill him while
   other aliens are trying to protect him and the rest of the world (character vs.
   society).
III. Themes:
I. If you are being chased, run, unless you are equipped to fight,
II. If you want something, you have to go for it
III. Managing life is hard to do so you better be determined.

      Roger tried to steal Ms. Jones purse by snatching it because he wanted money to buy a pair of blue suede shoes.

1. Ms. Jones gave Roger what he deserved by putting him in a half Nelson because he tried to steal her purse.

4. There is actually a human and another human.
   II.
A. First Roger attempted to steal Ms. Jones purse.
B. Ms. Jones put Roger in a half Nelson to teach Roger a lesson.
C. Ms. Jones drags Roger to her house.
D. Ms. Jones cleans Roger up and gives him some food to eat.
E. Ms. Jones tests Roger with his purse.
F. Ms. Jones gives Roger money and sends him home.
    
III. 3 Themes:
A. If you want something, it doesn't hurt to ask because the person might give you it.
B. You should not steal because people might not trust you when you want to be trusted.
C. If you are generous to someone they will greatly apriciate because they will think you are kind.
