"Activism, Perspective, & Propaganda"

1. What do you know about news media and what makes a news source valid? What does news being located close to Hollywood have to do with validity? On a news source they try to make you fear. Mostly all of the top stories on the news make you fear. In Hollywood a lot of people get brain washed by all of the propaganda. Lots of famous people live there so there is a lot of drama.

2. What is propaganda and why is it powerful? Explain what you know about propaganda. Propaganda is a way of persuading people and tricking them into your scheme. You are taking facts and stirring them up a little bit. Many buisnesses use propaganda.

3. Where do you find propaganda? How is that propaganda? DETAIL( don't say everywhere) I find propaganda on commercials, magazines, adds, on the radio, on posters, and at stores. It is propaganda because they are using persuasive techniques to get money.

4. What role does PERSPECTIVE play in looking at anything?  Everyone has a different viewpoint. It is just like when we were all looking at the marker. Everyone had a different view of it.

5. What is the difference and similarity between FACT vs. OPINION and TRUTH vs. NON-TRUTH? When you are comparing fact vs. opinion and truth vs. non-truth, a fact is something that can be proven and an opinion is someone's own perspective of something. When you're comparing that to the truth and non-truth, truth is when someone takes a fact and says that fact in their opinion. Non truth is something that is completely not true.

6. If someone asked you what you have learned in Reading class since coming back from Spring Break, what would you tell them?(remember, they will judge the class based on your response) I would say that we have been working a lot on propaganda. We have learned the facts and opinions, we have also been learning about the Kony project.

7. Give some information to support that Americans are spoiled.
We have lots of technology, we have food, fresh water, and nice shelter for most people.

8. What are some concerns you have about propaganda? Why do you think it might be dangerous? I think it might be dangerous because they people who are trying to  persuade you, are telling you false information.
